There is a little bit of information I should share before getting started. I’d never had a wand, Magic or otherwise. My first experiences with sex toys were usually vibrator/bullet related. I grew up thinking that masturbation was silly and gross, so every time I walked into a Sharper Image and saw the ‘personal body massagers’ my first instinct was to giggle. Now, at almost 30 years old, this is my first wand (even thought its travel sized). After using this little guy I am really excited to try the ‘real thing’.
The interchangeable heads are made of body safe silicone, the body is made of phthalate free ABS plastic, and it is waterproof! The USB charging plug goes into a resealable charge hole and each 50 minute charge lasts 2.5 hours. There are 3 vibration modes ranging from ‘That’s Nice’ to ‘Hoooolyyyy Shiiiit!’. It has a flexible neck and it is 4 inches long, 1 inch wide, and the heads are anywhere from 1 to 2.25 inches.
There are 3 interchangeable heads. There is a ‘teasing nub tip’, a textured, tongue type thing, and rabbit. Each one is made of a silky smooth silicone. They are all super flexible and it is really easy to change each one. Plus, the basic, hard plastic head is also really fun to play with, so its like you are getting a bonus. There are pros and cons of each but I will tell you all about them in order of my favorites.
When I used this product, I used a water based lube for all uses, including use with the non silicone tip. That way I was safe from contamination if I decided to change heads mid sesh. Like I mentioned in my Uberlube post, if you need to use a silicone lube, always check the lube on a small spot on the toy before use, and wash it really well. If there are any changes to that spot, said toy is not compatible with that lube.
The first time I used it, I used it without any of the silicon heads. I just used the hard plastic tip, and it was really lovely. Perfect for a good ol’ clit smoosh. Got me off just fine. Something that is really nice about this little thing is that it’s not too complicated. There is only one button. You hold it down for 3 seconds to turn it on, and 3 seconds to turn it off. There aren’t any crazy vibration patterns, it simply has 3 different vibe speeds. That’s it.
I really don’t have any cons except maybe the size, which will be a pattern in this review. My biggest issue with these smaller toys is that the nice feeling bits are usually very precise. It can sometimes be difficult to keep it where I want it, especially at the higher vibration speeds, and when using a nice, slick lube. Also, the flexi head makes it a little tricky to keep pressure on spots because the more you press, the more it flexes.
The textured nub tip was really nice too. I used this one solo and with my partner. My partner had a fun time with the amount of squirming I did because of the textured bumps. Using it solo I had it positioned against my clit right on the edge of the flat side and the top. Doing it that way made the dots really focused and it was a wonderful feeling.
Again, the only negative was the size. This one didn’t have as bad of an issue as the next 2 because the silicone head made its width a bit larger than the rest. The wiggliness of the head still made it hard to find the perfect spot. I found myself concentrating too hard on the toy rather than the feeling that it gave me.
The tongue one was ok, but only once I found the spot I liked. It took me a long time to find it. It’s nice because it has 2 sides, smooth, and textured. The smooth side didn’t do much for me, but I know everyone has different tastes. I did get off, eventually, but I had to go to my tried and true ‘get off’ position of face down, ass up. This always seems to work.
The negatives are similar to above but a bit more extreme. Because the tongue flap is so bendy, it was hard to find a spot to hit that it didn’t just vibe away from being slippery from the lube. I have mentioned this before and I’ll mention it again, I love me a rumbly, extra firm, vibe. This head was neither. It was more of a flicking or buzzing sensation unless I pressed down really hard. If you have the patience, I would recommend using just the wiggly tip against your body. It’s a very light sensation, but, especially with a partner, it’s probably the best method of use.
Now, the bunny. This one will be hard to come up with positive for. I have never had a rabbit, so I did not know what to expect. What I learned was it was not my cup of tea. With a partner it was nice for foreplay and it got my clit crazy sensitive, but we had to eventually move on because I just got a bit bored. This head is definitely more of a tease toy. It’s great on the nipples and to run against the sensitive bits of your body, but I never got off with it, and I am not sure I ever will.
The major negatives about this head was that it was way too…exact. The only way it worked for me solo was really quick motions, which was hard to keep up with. It seemed like once I found a nice spot, I would jerk it a couple times then it would slip away.
In the end, would I recommend this, yes. It is great for use with a partner and fun for discreet play. Solo use is a little tricky, but I wouldn’t let that stop you because the vibration are really nice. I would definitely love to get my hands on a proper rabbit vibrator and a ‘real deal’ Magic Wand after using this. Like wands, rabbits are usually the go to for beginners, and I feel like I have missed out.
