How to Clean Your Sex Toys (Spices of Lust)

Adult Content, Blog Posts, Guest, Hygiene, Sex, Sex Positive, Sex Toys, Sexual Wellness, Talk

Cleanliness is next to godliness, and when it comes to keeping your sex toys clean, it is an act of god. A mandatory exercise! Because no matter how much pleasure you derive from it, the toy needs to be squeaky clean and ready to use on the go!

So how do we go ahead and keep them clean and sparkling?
This has been a question on our minds for a long time. Please remember, just water will not do, that dildo needs to be germ-free before it touches your nerves. The reason is plain and simple- our bodies, no matter how incredible they are, are a hive for the germs.

Be it the tongue or the vagina, they provide not just the moment of madness but plenty of microorganisms too. While that doesn’t mean the body is a bag full of dirt, the possibility of a bacterial buildup on the toys is for real.

The benefit of regularly cleaning the toys are manifold, it keeps them well serviced and hence the longevity. When they are serviced well, their performance will speak for itself. No woman would want her best rabbit vibrator shut off in the middle of a climax. The idea is to be as careful as possible. While you may want the sex to be dirty, you surely will not want the toys to be dirty too.

The ideal routine is to wash them before every use as well as after the use. Every sex toy comes with cleaning instructions and that needs to be followed. Also, the cleaning instructions vary with the material.

What Cleans What and How?

  • If it is made of silicone, glass, or wood and has a motor attached to it, the best way to get rid of those pestering microbes is with an antibacterial soap. After you have washed it well, wipe it clean with a dry cloth.
  • If it’s silicone, stainless steel, or stone and does not have a motor attached to it, hot water does the trick. Place them under hot water for a full 10 minutes and the results would be fruitful. One can run it through the dishwater too without even need of the soap. The steam will take care of the germs.
  • Leather gives you pleasure. However, it is also an exotic material and needs a lot of attention. The product needs to be wiped with a damp cloth soaked in soap. One can also use a leather cleaner. Friendly advice, never soak the leather. It will lose its texture and softness forever. After it has been cleaned, use a leather conditioner to recondition it. Leather toys have metal parts attached to it. To protect them from rusting, use nail polish. One cleaning hack that has never failed.

However, probably the best way to clean your sex toys are special toy cleaning products, but also not all of them. Antibacterial soaps as well as alcohol that can be found in many sex toy cleaning products can dry out your sex toy. When buying a sex toy cleaner, you should keep an eye on several ingredients. We recommend avoiding alcohol, triclosan, parabens and glycerine as those are harsh chemicals and can be harmful to your body.

In case you’re wondering which one is a good choice, here’s one – Intimate Earth Green Foaming Toy Cleaner, sold by MedAmour. And not only are the ingredients great, but this cleaner does a great job with silicone, glass and stainless steel toys.

Why the fuss?

Sex toys are primarily tools that will be used over the human body and some, a few inches inside. That makes them high precision tools of sorts. Pun apart, before buying a sex toy, remember to check how body safe is it. Or whether the material that has been used to build these toys are safe for the human body.

Materials like jelly, Cyberskin, vinyl and rubber should best be avoided, they are porous and generally difficult to maintain. Porous materials have pockets within their structure that can collect body fluids, which is a conducive environment for germs. That is why, non-porous objects are easy to maintain, and hence they last longer too.

Should you use toys made of said materials, we recommend using condoms. Not only are they almost impossible to clean, but materials like vinyl and rubber can contain dangerous chemicals (phthalates) which are dangerous for your skin. So the best you can do is to stay away.

Nothing works better than boiling. Simply insert the toys into a mug of boiling water and let it take care of all the germs that. Be careful of some toys though. And this is important for the ones which have a motor attached to it, check whether it is detachable. If yes, the battle is won. Separate, splash the part minus the motor into hot water. Take it out and wipe it clean.

Lovemaking is a pleasurable experience and a memorable one too, if everything planned stays on course. However, safety trumps all, and with our how to keep sex toys clean advisory, you can go one notch up and turn it harder.

No Mud, No Lotus: The Downside of Submission and Why I Wouldn’t Change a Thing (Holly Deeply)

Blog Posts, Guest, Sex, Sex Positive, Sexual Wellness, Talk

My name is Holly and I am submissive. I know, it sounds like a 12-step introduction, but submission is a very particular sexual identification in the BDSM community and I am rather proud of that association. I did not choose submission or this lifestyle; I am submissive and I am a part of the lifestyle whether I participate actively or not. In fact, I eat, breath, sleep, write about, fantasize about, and feel submission in every aspect of my life. I use what I have learned through submissive play in both my personal and professional life.

However, as with many things in life, submission comes with suffering. To say I wasn’t prepared for the disappointments is an understatement. But as the Buddhists say, “no mud, no lotus.” If we know how to use the mud, or pain, we can learn to grow beautiful lotuses, or joy. We cannot seek or focus on pleasure exclusively as we may begin to believe emotional pain is something to avoid at all costs. There are lessons in that pain, and I’m about to share some of mine.

SUB FRENZY

Sub frenzy is a crazy roller coaster ride that comes with no warning. It was like a switch had turned on and all of my senses were suddenly alive and raw. I became unhinged and my inner slut emerged. I hungered for Domination. I didn’t care if He ever wanted to see me again, I simply never wanted the feeling to end. Every bite, slap, orgasm, and bruise sent me into a state of euphoria more pleasurable than anything I had experienced. I wanted to be used 24/7. I lacked discernment and I did not ask appropriate questions. As a result, I placed myself into some very unsafe situations that I am grateful to have come out of unharmed.

Along with meeting with Dominants, I was reading everything I could get my hands on regarding the various types of submissives and the kinds of relationships that existed. I joined Fetlife and started learning about kinks. All I wanted to do was talk about my newfound self, but I didn’t have any friends in the lifestyle. I had read about a term called “subsister,” but how the hell was I supposed to make female friends when all I cared about is being choked, gagged, spanked, and disciplined? Frenzy is this crazy, slutty little minx that wants her way and doesn’t care about the consequences.

Frenzy may come and go for a submissive, but for me it lasted almost a year. It wasn’t until I experienced a particular Dominant that my mind quieted and I understood what I am and who I was meant for. I saw and felt my purpose so clearly that frenzy subsided. It was a relief, to be honest. Now that I am out of frenzy, I can see its importance and see how pivotal it was in shaping me as a submissive. I was free and open and I didn’t have any judgments about what I would or wouldn’t do. Playtime was my classroom and I wanted a PhD in submission. Now I know my submission is constantly evolving and there is no limit on what I can learn or experience.

FRIENDSHIPS ENDED

During sub frenzy, I wanted to tell everyone about this fantastic thing I had discovered about myself. My passion for BDSM was oozing from every pore in my body. I was so overwhelmed and excited, I didn’t realize – or remember – how closed minded most of society is about sexual taboos. Until the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) was released in 2013, BDSM was considered a deviant behavior and could warrant loss of children in a custody battle. BDSM was not dinner table conversation and there are a lot of misconceptions of the lifestyle.

Regardless of that fact, I began telling friends of my new found self, and I was met with both negative and inflammatory reactions. I was called a slut, a sex addict, a doormat, ignorant, and stupid among other things. I was confused at their responses. These were my friends and they knew me. Some said I was going through a phase and it would pass, mid-life crisis even. I was given an ultimatum from my best friend at the time to get professional help or the friendship would end.

There was nothing medically wrong with me and that I was a consenting adult, so the friendship ended. To be judged, labeled and abandoned for my sexual preference was humiliating, and it opened up a new world of understanding regarding all types of lifestyles. This was a really painful lesson and I learned to stay quiet and hide. I learned that no matter how progressive the world may seem, conversations around sexual behaviors and practices are still very uncomfortable for most individuals, and here I was singing the praises of ropes and riding crops. I had to make new friends. BDSM is about community and sharing experiences, and this journey is not meant to be taken alone. Slowly, I began to find new, kinky friends and I felt safe discussing my needs and asking questions.

FINDING A PARTNER

I was recently single after a 19 year marriage and I was re-entering the dating pool in the age of technology. It was scary as fuck, and I felt so far out of my comfort zone. But it was dating that led to my discovery of BDSM and my unbridled passion for it. A chance conversation with a man I had been seeing changed my life forever. We explored a bit of bondage and I experienced surrender for the very first time. The freedom and release I experienced in that singular moment was a rebirth. I was forever changed I could not go back to vanilla sex.

I began to read about submission the next day and I joined Fetlife. It didn’t take long before the messages came flooding in (Dominants love a newbie submissive). There are also a few dating sites that are for kink minded individuals. I have had success with both Kinkd and Feeld. That being said, on all three sites, anyone can say they are Dominant and they can say they are looking for exactly the same things. I learned the hard way most Dominants just want to play and do not want the responsibility that goes along with engaging with a submissive – I will get to that subject later on.

There was a lot of excitement around potential partners that was followed by heartbreak. No matter how well I communicated my desires and needs, I was left with the same result after playtime; silence. Finding a good match is extremely difficult. Dating conversations in the kink realm generally begin with, “so what are you looking for?” Sex is usually the first topic on the table and it all begins to look like a negotiation. I learned that if our kinks and sexual desires didn’t align, I didn’t want to take the time to meet. I learned to ask questions like, “how do you manage sub drop,” and “have you ever had a D/s relationship?” I learned to feel into my intuition and energy and pick up on social cues from the very first message.

In the beginning, however, I was hungry for attention and domination. Sub frenzy is insatiable and she wants whatever interaction she can get. But I learned to place some very strict boundaries around offering myself to a Dominant. Submission is a gift we present to a deserving partner. It is not something to be demanded in the first conversation. No, I will not be calling you Sir or Master from the start. I have learned to say no and trusted a gentleman would show himself eventually.

SUB DROP

The most painful aspect of submission for me is sub drop. Sub drop is an emotional and physical experience that mirrors depression. It is a result of crashing hormones after a very intense scene with a partner. It can also occur when a relationship ends with a Dominant. Drop can range from mild symptoms of fatigue to overwhelming feelings of dread and physical pain. The first time I experienced sub drop I had no idea what was happening to me. I felt confused, depressed, scared, unworthy, shame, physical pain, exhaustion, and bewilderment.

I had engaged in several scenes with one particular Dominant over a three week period. Our sessions were intense and sex was transcendent, leaving me floating on clouds for days. There was not enough time in between our sessions for me to come down, so when I finally experienced a drop, it was like crashing into a brick wall and I was alone. The Dominant neither warned me of drop nor supported me through it. He did not return my messages or calls and was completely unavailable to me. His silence added to my feelings of shame and abandonment. It was another Dominant friend that noticed what was happening and he guided and supported me while I navigated my way out of it. I am forever grateful for his assistance and his selfless act of service toward me.

Each submissive experiences drop differently, and the time frame ranges for each of us. What I have learned about myself is that I experience a drop three to five days after a scene, depending on its intensity. So while a Dominant is cuddling me after our session that very same night believing he is giving me after care, I don’t generally want closeness at that time. I am still in a euphoric state feeling all the sensations in my body; I am energized, alert and over stimulated. Any effort of care and connection at that time are somewhat lost on me. I now try to take some of that affection in as I know what will happen to me in the days to come. Regardless of whether I receive after care in the coming days from a partner or not, I have incorporated some practices to care for myself. I make sure to rest, drink lots of water, eat properly for my body, and get gentle exercise. I try to get outside in the sun and walk. I take baths and indulge in self care.

Submissives become another version of themselves during drop and our behavior is quite unpredictable during this time. We will say and feel ridiculous things about ourselves and our partners. We may even act out and seek pleasure or attention from another Dominant to fill the perceived void. This need for validation and reassurance is intense and as important as air. Not every Dominant is willing to guide us through this critical time, but they should be. It is ok to be needy and scared and crave affection and attention. It is ok to feel bad about what happened during a scene and to question our desires and values. What is not okay is for the Dominant to be unavailable during this time. This was an extremely difficult learning curve for me, and I have accepted that there are no guarantees a partner will be able to meet your needs after a session.

NO MUD, NO LOTUS

Despite all that I have highlighted above, being submissive is who I am; this lifestyle is not a choice for me.. The lows of this journey are as equally important as the highs, and the growth I have experienced is priceless. I have learned to communicate my needs, to create boundaries and, most importantly, how to say no. I have forged some beautiful relationships with Dominants, submissives and myself. And the most profound aspect is that the journey never ends. I evolve as a human when I put myself out there and take risks. I have learned to use my suffering as a gateway to understanding and realizing true happiness. No mud, no lotus my friends.

Tailz Pink Bunny Tail Vibrating Anal Plug

Adult Content, Affiliate, Blog Posts, Coupon Code, Discount, Goodies, Product Review, Sex, Sex Positive, Sex Toys

This plug is SO much fun! It’s adorable and super powerful. This plug is perfect for all forms of anal play: vanilla, pet play, etc. I am so thrilled to have this in my collection. Might not use it all that often since the size is really intimidating, but it’s definitely a conversation starter!

The Tailz Plug is made of body safe silicone and the bunny poof is made of synthetic fibers. It is splash proof but not submersible, so you can wash it thoroughly but it’s not wise to use this for water play. It is rechargeable via usb plug with a charge time of 60 minutes. You can get up to 90 minutes of play per charge depending on the vibration levels. Plus it comes with a really nice remote so once it’s in, either you or your partner can play with the 3 speeds and 7 patterns.

Unfortunately, the thing that makes this toy so adorable is also one of the biggest negatives. While the tail is adorable, it’s kind of a pain in the ass (pun intended). The power button and the jack are both located almost directly underneath the poof ball. When you go to charge it it’s almost impossible not to get some of the fibers stuck in the plug, which makes me super paranoid.

The good definitely outweighs the bad with this toy. I am a huge fan of the shape of the base since it sits perfectly between my cheeks and doesn’t put any pressure against them. It’s very comfortable. Plus the velvety softness of the silicone makes it a very gentle experience when slipping it in (even if the widest part gets a bit rough). The remote is amazing and works so well, even with the toy inside a body. Plus, the remote controls everything from speed to vibration modes and the buttons are nicely labeled for minimal confusion.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend the Tailz Anal Plug. The tail is adorable (while not totally functional), the materials are extremely high quality, and the size is excellent for those wanting to expand their anal training. Plus its super fun to use with a partner and extra fun if you wanna feel like an adorable little bunny for a little while.

No More Wet Spot – 50″ x 60″ Reversible, Waterproof Blanket

Blog Posts, Lifestyle, Product Review, Sex

I am absolutely in love with the No More Wet Spot waterproof blanket. As most of you know, I am a squirter. I was sick and tired of having to mop up my mattress with towels and having to wash my sheets multiple times a week. The NMWS blanket has changed everything!

The No More Wet Spot blanket is made is 100% polyester. This makes it a very soft, washable fleece type blanket. The reason why it is waterproof is the finishing. While there are technically 3 layers, they are all fused together to make one thick, waterproof fabric (see below for a semi NSFW photo of the blanket in use!). To wash it, all you have to do is toss it in the washer and dry it on low, or hang dry it, like I did.

Since I am a projectile squirter, I decided to get to the largest version of this blanket. It’s a perfect size to fit over the entirety of my queen bed. This makes it the perfect addition to any play because you just toss it on the bed and not have to worry about placement. Your whole bed is covered!

I was actually a bit worried about this thing since I have heard about other companies who make waterproof blankets making theirs super rough, hard, or even tarp-like. I definitely didn’t want that. Must to my surprise, this was nothing like that. The NMWS blanket is SOOO soft. Also, because of the ‘waterproof-ness’, it’s fairly weighted, so I do admit to having used it as a weighted blanket during a couple of my naps.

The picture below is a testament to the blankets absorption. While that amount of liquid may not look like much, I can assure you, it was, and the blanket sucked it ALL up! I was thrilled. Plus, because if the material, it didn’t bunch up, or inch away, no mater how much I thrashed around.

For those of you who love to get messy, or just get messy naturally, like me, this blanket is a MUST for your collection. It comes in 3 different sizes and there are 3 different color combos, so you have an abundance of customization options. I am so happy that I have something now that helps me feel comfortable being a squirter.

Being a Squirter

Adult Content, Blog Posts, ETC, Sex, Sex Positive, Sexual Wellness

First things first, I’m not here to tell you what squirting is. A few minutes on Google will bring up so many websites that will tell you, in way more detail, what squirting is and different ways to do it. I am simply going to tell you about my life as a squirter and what that means, for me.

I’ve always been able to squirt and, to me, being a squirter means making a huge mess. I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not it’s actually pee (which it totally isn’t…I think), I’ve been worshiped for it, and mocked for it. Needless to say, I have a mixed history with with squirting. I also feel like I squirt…weird. Almost every single website about ‘how to squirt’ makes it seem like it’s only a g-spot thing. That isn’t the case with me. I ONLY squirt from clitoral orgasms.

I recently posted a blog about my lack of orgasm. I am still (sort of) unsure about why I have such a hard time. I deduced that mental illness and medications may be mostly to blame, but I didn’t want that to just be the end of it. I kept experimenting and really trying to understand my body more. After a few weeks of that, I had the realization that sometimes I lose my orgasm because am a squirter. Not in the ‘I’ve squirted a little a few times’ kind of way, but in the way that, for me, is actually sort of embarrassing. I make a huge mess and knowing that prevents me from fully letting go.

I’ve only squirted with a couple of my partners (mostly because I was faking almost all my orgasms from go to 20, but that’s a story for another time). The first time I squirted in front of someone and not just by myself, the look on their face was pure joy. I still don’t understand why since it’s so normal for me and I had seen it so many times in porn. I thought ‘isn’t this what everyone does?’. Oh boy was I wrong. I got an ear full after that.

Unfortunately, I learned that being a squirter isn’t always such a magical thing. At one point I squirted so hard there was HUGE spot of the bed covered in it. I was so surprised at the amount that I texted my boyfriend at the time with a photo. His response was “I hope you’re cleaning that up…”, which he meant as a joke, but I did not take it that way. I was so insecure about the fact that it happens that I didn’t do it again for months. I felt disgusting.

While that definitely left me with some scarring, I bounced back fairly quickly on the orgasm front. I learned new ways to have orgasms that didn’t involve squirting and, even though it was definitely difficult to control something that comes naturally to me, I managed, until recently.

Ever since I figured that out, and become ok with it, I’ve been able to have way more orgasms. Yes, I mess up the sheets almost every time I come, but I don’t always have that mental wall blocking me. If you need to squirt, fucking squirt. While some people may not like it (I suggest mentioning it before you get freaky with someone), anyone who makes you feel like shit about it doesn’t deserve your come all over them.

My advice to anyone who wants to squirt is experiment with yourself, let yourself go, and invest in some amazing clean up towels, which I will be doing a review for later on. There is more than one way to squirt and you need to find your way, and if you can’t, don’t worry, not everyone can. The hardest part about accepting this about myself is that it needs to happen. If I don’t squirt once in a while, my body literally starts rejecting my orgasms. It’s great…

The Best Sex Podcasts 2019

Blog Posts, ETC, List, Podcasts, Sex, Talk

Podcasts are amazing. They can be educational, entertaining, or all of the above. Being a sex blog, I decided to share some of my favorite sex podcasts that you can find on almost all streaming platforms. I chose these based on the information they share, how entertaining they were to listen to, and the type of topics they discuss.

I focused on podcasts that had a broad spectrum of material and didn’t focus on anything too specific. There are so many wonderful kink, BDSM, polyamory, queer, female, etc, focused podcasts out there. Eventually I will be writing blog posts for all of those topics, but for now, I wanted to keep it simple.

The five podcasts I have listed below are in no particular order. That would have been WAY too complicated and I didn’t want you to go into this list with any preconceived notions that I had any favorites. They are all fantastic. If you have any questions or recommendations for podcasts we should add to this list, comment below or email me at thepinkspacelime@gmail.com.

Sluts and Scholars

Nicoletta Heidegger is a licensed MFT and sexologist and Simone is an actor-turned-law-student who really likes to talk about sex. Together, they chat with folks from across sexuality, kink and professional spectrums about desire, pleasure, shame, stigma and (of course) bodily functions.

With a combination of irreverence and expertise, we talk about any subject, even more sensitive ones, like HIV stigma and non-offending minor-attracted persons. What else is on the docket? Anything remotely related to sexual, reproductive and bodily autonomy; from the indigenous menstrual practices of the Hupa Valley tribe, to beauty confidence advice from Dita von Teese, anal sex pro tips from Jessica Drake, non-consensual objectification with Amber Heard and what it’s REALLY like being in a 24/7 BDSM relationship.

Sluts and Scholars is raw, funny, and educational. I have listened to almost every episode of this podcast in the last week. The hosts are so entertaining and passionate about everything they talk about. Their banter is wonderful and it always keeps the episode going. The guests are really professional and educated on the topics being discussed.

The newest episode (111) is SO powerful. They discuss the importance of acceptance of sexuality, sex workers, and sex education across the world, specifically on social media. This is such a hot button topic at the moment and they don’t hold back. You get to learn what their own experiences are with censorship, plus you get to hear from a couple of guests who have a wonderful perspective on this issue.

The Manwhore Podcast

The Manwhore Podcast is hosted by stand up comedian, Billy Procida. The name speaks for itself, but this podcast is real provocative. The most recent episode features Dante Nero (227), and one of the top episodes of all time involves the host is literally getting a ‘happy ending’ massage during the episode (157). That one is particularly fun.

This is a sex podcast, so of course there’s gonna be some shit you don’t agree with. If you just keep listening, there are so many amazing episodes that deal with contemporary topics such as body positivity, sexual orientation, gender, sex workers, and sexual freedoms. This is a really great podcast to listen to if you want to keep up with the world of sex.

His Patreon has all sorts of fun NSFW content including bonus episodes, conversations, announcements, and some naughty nudes. He also hosts ManwhoreCon once a year and I am actually publishing this post one day after the event ends for 2019. ManwhoreCon is definitely on my list of events to attend in the future. Apparently it’s loads (punny) of fun.

Bawdy Storytelling

Bawdy Storytelling is a wild fucking ride! This podcast is hosted by Dixie De La Tour, a professional sexual folklorist and storyteller. This podcast has opened my eyes to new things. I’ve laughed and I’ve cried (mostly from laughing). Overall, this is a really unique podcast experience.

The title song ‘My Vagina is 8 Miles Wide’ by Storm Large is such a catchy song. It makes me smile, sing along, and prepares me for the journey that is this episodes story. Each week Dixie introduces the storyteller and then that person tells us a story. The most recent stories involve vaginismus (83) and polyamory (82).

The stories are told in such a way that truly make you see the situation. The amount of detail that is put into these performances is astounding. Sometimes they are told by professionals, and sometimes it’s just a regular ol’ person like you and me. There are so many secrets spilled and fetishes destigmatized. You will definitely connect with these stories, and if not, hey, you learned something new, maybe even about yourself.

Sex Talk With My Mom

This podcast was actually suggested to me by Billy from The Manwhore Podcast, and I am so happy he did! This podcast is fucking hilarious. Sex Talk with My Mom is hosted by KarenLee and her son Cam Poter. He is a stand up comedian and she is a sex educator and self proclaimed ‘cougar’.

I would have never thought that a SEX podcast with a dude and his mom would be so amazing. I love that the episodes aren’t too long either. I think the longest episodes are around 65 minutes, but those still go by really quick because these two are just hilarious.

This is more of a stories and comedy podcast. There’s not too much scientific talk, but it’s really fun to hear about everyone’s experiences with different sexual encounters. Sometimes they have professional/famous guests and sometimes it’s call in guests that are just regular people.

Shameless Sex

Shameless Sex podcast is hosted by Amy Baldwin, a sex and relationship coach (among other amazing things), and April Lampert, the VP of Hot Octopuss pleasure toys. “Together, Amy and April combined forces to create the Shameless Sex Podcast, inspiring radical self-love, sexual empowerment, and shame-free intimacy. Shameless Sex is unabashed real talk about sexuality with a playful twist. From Pussy Praising to How to Be A Badass in the Bedroom, Amy and April are not afraid to tell it like it is.”(s)

This podcast delves into all types of topics and they deal with a lot more of the technical/scientific side of sexuality. They give you tips and tricks for making your sex life amazing and understanding and accepting your own sexuality. The hosts are funny, entertaining, and could seriously be my best friends.

This is a really great podcast to listen to while your at work. Not too many ‘laugh out loud’ moments, so you won’t get those weird looks as you might with the others on this list. This podcast is quite mellow so it’s really lovely to relax to.

Runners Up

CalExotics Rechargeable Massager Kit

Adult Content, Blog Posts, Goodies, Product Review, Sex, Sex Toys

There is a little bit of information I should share before getting started. I’d never had a wand, Magic or otherwise. My first experiences with sex toys were usually vibrator/bullet related. I grew up thinking that masturbation was silly and gross, so every time I walked into a Sharper Image and saw the ‘personal body massagers’ my first instinct was to giggle. Now, at almost 30 years old, this is my first wand (even thought its travel sized). After using this little guy I am really excited to try the ‘real thing’.

The interchangeable heads are made of body safe silicone, the body is made of phthalate free ABS plastic, and it is waterproof! The USB charging plug goes into a resealable charge hole and each 50 minute charge lasts 2.5 hours. There are 3 vibration modes ranging from ‘That’s Nice’ to ‘Hoooolyyyy Shiiiit!’. It has a flexible neck and it is 4 inches long, 1 inch wide, and the heads are anywhere from 1 to 2.25 inches.

There are 3 interchangeable heads. There is a ‘teasing nub tip’, a textured, tongue type thing, and rabbit. Each one is made of a silky smooth silicone. They are all super flexible and it is really easy to change each one. Plus, the basic, hard plastic head is also really fun to play with, so its like you are getting a bonus. There are pros and cons of each but I will tell you all about them in order of my favorites.

When I used this product, I used a water based lube for all uses, including use with the non silicone tip. That way I was safe from contamination if I decided to change heads mid sesh. Like I mentioned in my Uberlube post, if you need to use a silicone lube, always check the lube on a small spot on the toy before use, and wash it really well. If there are any changes to that spot, said toy is not compatible with that lube.

The first time I used it, I used it without any of the silicon heads. I just used the hard plastic tip, and it was really lovely. Perfect for a good ol’ clit smoosh. Got me off just fine. Something that is really nice about this little thing is that it’s not too complicated. There is only one button. You hold it down for 3 seconds to turn it on, and 3 seconds to turn it off. There aren’t any crazy vibration patterns, it simply has 3 different vibe speeds. That’s it.

I really don’t have any cons except maybe the size, which will be a pattern in this review. My biggest issue with these smaller toys is that the nice feeling bits are usually very precise. It can sometimes be difficult to keep it where I want it, especially at the higher vibration speeds, and when using a nice, slick lube. Also, the flexi head makes it a little tricky to keep pressure on spots because the more you press, the more it flexes.

The textured nub tip was really nice too. I used this one solo and with my partner. My partner had a fun time with the amount of squirming I did because of the textured bumps. Using it solo I had it positioned against my clit right on the edge of the flat side and the top. Doing it that way made the dots really focused and it was a wonderful feeling.

Again, the only negative was the size. This one didn’t have as bad of an issue as the next 2 because the silicone head made its width a bit larger than the rest. The wiggliness of the head still made it hard to find the perfect spot. I found myself concentrating too hard on the toy rather than the feeling that it gave me.

The tongue one was ok, but only once I found the spot I liked. It took me a long time to find it. It’s nice because it has 2 sides, smooth, and textured. The smooth side didn’t do much for me, but I know everyone has different tastes. I did get off, eventually, but I had to go to my tried and true ‘get off’ position of face down, ass up. This always seems to work.

The negatives are similar to above but a bit more extreme. Because the tongue flap is so bendy, it was hard to find a spot to hit that it didn’t just vibe away from being slippery from the lube. I have mentioned this before and I’ll mention it again, I love me a rumbly, extra firm, vibe. This head was neither. It was more of a flicking or buzzing sensation unless I pressed down really hard. If you have the patience, I would recommend using just the wiggly tip against your body. It’s a very light sensation, but, especially with a partner, it’s probably the best method of use.

Now, the bunny. This one will be hard to come up with positive for. I have never had a rabbit, so I did not know what to expect. What I learned was it was not my cup of tea. With a partner it was nice for foreplay and it got my clit crazy sensitive, but we had to eventually move on because I just got a bit bored. This head is definitely more of a tease toy. It’s great on the nipples and to run against the sensitive bits of your body, but I never got off with it, and I am not sure I ever will.

The major negatives about this head was that it was way too…exact. The only way it worked for me solo was really quick motions, which was hard to keep up with. It seemed like once I found a nice spot, I would jerk it a couple times then it would slip away.

In the end, would I recommend this, yes. It is great for use with a partner and fun for discreet play. Solo use is a little tricky, but I wouldn’t let that stop you because the vibration are really nice. I would definitely love to get my hands on a proper rabbit vibrator and a ‘real deal’ Magic Wand after using this. Like wands, rabbits are usually the go to for beginners, and I feel like I have missed out.

Uberlube!

18+, Adult Content, Affiliate, Blog Posts, Goodies, Hygiene, Lifestyle, Product Review, Sex, Sexual Wellness

Uberlube is very, very fun! I finally got a sample from Lovers the other day I just couldn’t wait to try it. I have heard so many amazing reviews about this stuff, and they are all SPOT ON. This product is not just for sex, oh no. This is a multi purpose serum and it is magical.

Uberlube is 100% vegan, cruelty free, with no parabens, gluten, glycerin, flavors, or scents. It is made up of Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Cyclomethicone, and Tocopheryl Acetate (aka Vitamin E). An awesome bonus is that it is registered medical quality.

Uberlube’s intended uses are for sex (obviously), sport, and style. What?! Sport and style?? How do I use this for those things?? Keep reading to find out!

Uberlube is silicone based, so use with toys is tricky, but not impossible. Silicone toys can have a bad interaction with silicone based lubes and can start breaking down. You can test how your toy will react by doing a test swatch. Put the lube on a very small area of your toy, leave it for a couple minutes, then wash it off really good. After you wash it off, if your toy has any discolorations, odd textures, or is sticky, don’t use that lube with that particular toy.

This stuff is amazing. It is like the ‘Energizer Bunny’ of lubes. It keeps going, and going, and going, and going, and…well you get the picture. The consistency of this lube is wonderful. It’s not sticky at all, but it’s also not too runny (see pictures below). If we continue on the path of metaphors, one might call the it, the ‘Goldilocks’ of the lube world…*wink*

Uberlube is great for sex in any capacity. The first thing that I tried was some old school finger masturbation. Using this lube was mind blowing to say the least. I think I had the quickest, most powerful orgasm I’d had in months, if not years. The goal of Uberlube is reduce friction, not sensation. That is exactly what it did. Good Goddess this stuff is fucking brilliant. I am hoping to try it on some non silicone toys in the near future, so stay tuned!

The next thing to be tried using Uberlube was penetration, of all kinds. Whatever type of penetration you enjoy, be it fingers or penis into a vagina or butt, you will LOVE this stuff. My partner and I had the best anal sex we’d had in a while. This stuff doesn’t give up and you feel everything! It is wonderful. Like I said before, I haven’t tried this with any toys, but I’m under the assumption that use of this lube with any said toy will be extremely pleasurable. No matter what, though, always try all your lubes on your toys before use, just to be safe.

Also, for those of you that practice safe sex with condoms, first, good for you, second, this lube is condom friendly. Since this is an silicon based lube, it is perfect for use with all latex and polyisoprene condoms. The only condoms I would worry about is polyurethane, although I’m not to sure many brands use that material anymore. Side note: If you use oil based lubes, those are NOT latex friendly.

Like I mentioned in the beginning of this post, Uberlube is wonderful for more than just sex. This stuff works wonders for sports, all types of athletic activity, or just everyday wear. It is water proof, sweat proof, and it lasts for hours. Rub it on your thighs, or anywhere, for chafe protection, or for a dash of moisture with the vitamin E. The best part is that it doesn’t leave you feeling greasy and it will eventually dissolve so you’re not left with a gross residue. As a plus sized woman, this stuff is a lifesaver for my chub rub!

Now for the fun and unexpected part, using Uberlube for ‘Style’. When I read that salons, and other people, use Uberlube for their hair, I was very skeptical, until I used it. Let me tell you, this stuff is amazing! My hair is fried from years of bleaching and box dying, but with just a couple of drops, none of that mattered. My hair was left soft and frizz free. Also, since Uberlube is oil free, your hair doesn’t feel nasty or heavy.

Uberlube comes in 15ml refillable cases, which is perfect for travelling. You can also get it in 100ml and 50ml. Whatever you use it for, or wherever you need to bring it, you’ll be sure to find what you need. Plus, the glass bottle looks really nice and sleek.

If you want to buy Uberlube go to your nearest sex shop, seriously. This shit is everywhere. But, if you do your shopping online, check out these stores:

My Two Weeks as a BBW Sex Worker

18+, Adult Content, Blog Posts, Body Positive, ETC, Goodies, Lifestyle, Sex, Sex Work, Sexual Wellness

I never thought I would even consider being a sex worker. I had so many ideas of what sex workers did, looked like, felt about themselves, etc. All of my preconceived notions of sex work were 100% wrong. After completing this experiment I realized that sex work can be fun, lucrative, and an amazing self confidence booster. It’s the rest of the world that makes it out to be this dirty, immoral, thing. This is my experience as a BBW (Big Beautiful Womxn) sex worker.

Why Did I do this experiment?

The first reason why I decided to try sex work is to simply see if I could. Being a bigger woman, I was unsure of the need. I did my research and found that there are many, beautiful, full figured women in the sex worker industry. After thinking it through, and doing so much research, I decided why not, and jumped in.

I really wanted to experience what these wonderful people go through. Now I only did it for 2 weeks, so I probably didn’t get the full experience, but I loved it. No wonder people do this!! I was worried my self confidence would be shit, or I would get nothing but nasty comments, but that didn’t happen, much to my surprise.

Pros

One of the most surprising things that came from all of this was my self confidence boost. Before I started this experiment, my self confidence was growing every day, but this shot it to 11 within 48 hours. I’m still not too sure why this happened, but I loved it.

Speaking of self confidence, the sex life with my partner was reignited to the extreme. I used to hate my body. I would be so self conscious about any sort of intimacy. Now I don’t give a fuck. I love my rolls, my marks, my hair, etc. I sincerely love myself and the way I look. Making that mental change within myself made our physical relationship so much stronger.

I honestly got so many less nasty comments than I thought I would get. The nastiest comments I got were about my lack of content, not my actual content. If you’re worried about people being blatantly mean and cruel about your appearance, don’t. It didn’t happen. I’m sure the professionals get their fair share, but I feel like they love themselves too much to care about one salty perv.

The most surprising ‘pro’ is that I made a few sales! I only had a few videos but I sold 2 and had one Premium Snapchat subscriber. This was just in 2 weeks. That’s amazing! I cannot even begin to imagine what things would look like had I continued this journey. There are always people willing to buy the goods you have to give.

Cons

The major con is a pretty obvious one: you have to deal with the perverts. Most of the time the only messages I received were dick pics or dudes trying to get a free sext session out of me. The biggest surprise came about a week in, when I had started posting on Reddit. Someone actually asked me if they could jerk off to a picture of my tits. I thought that was super sweet and flattering that he would ask first.

Another pretty obvious con is that so many people will bitch at you about not giving it away for free. That’s all. Just block them if they bitch you out, but a lot of the time once they know you’re a professional they will just go on their way. I had a few ‘thank you for the offer, maybe another time’, which is super thoughtful.

This profession takes a lot of personal upkeep of home and self. I found myself spending quite a bit of time and money on shaving and home decoration. You are giving people a fantasy. You need it to be the best it can be, especially when they’re paying for it. If you’re doing free shows, fuck it, but the paid stuff should be top quality.

Sex work and adult entertainment is a very over saturated market. That’s going to a be a problem with any career moving forward though. This planet is so overpopulated so there’s going to be hundreds, if not thousands, of people doing exactly what you are doing. If you do it, do it for fun and be pleasantly surprised, or do it so well you get noticed.

The last con is more of an inconvenience than a ‘con’, but either build up a lot of content or prepare for lulls. Some days you’re not going to want to do anything (like any job) so it’s good to have some content to post when that happens. Your fans will NOTICE if you don’t post.

Apps/Websites

There are a lot of applications and websites to use in the sex worker industry. I’ve gone ahead and listed all the ones that I used. I will let you know all the uses for said apps and sites, as well as which ones to avoid and why.

CashApp Logo

I reached out to a fellow sex worker/adult entertainer and asked her what her favorite apps to use were. She immediately suggested that I use the app CashApp to accept my funds from people and direct deposit for use on websites. She said to never use PayPal because they will put a hold on your account for ‘Adult Activity’ and you’ll never get your money.

Setting up a CashApp account is pretty easy. It’s basically like PayPal with less restrictions. Plus, they will send you a personalized debit card, that has your signature etched into the front. It looks very sleek and professional.

Snapchat Logo

The first app I knew I wanted to use was Snapchat. I had seen the term ‘Premium Snapchat’ thrown around like it was confetti. I did some digging and figured out how to set it up. The basics of setting up a premium Snapchat are: make a private Snapchat account. That’s it. From there you can have people DM you for details via Instagram, Twitter, etc, or you can use a website like Fancentro (see below).

When you get your DMs asking for access to your premium Snapchat, make sure the first thing you do is give them your CashApp handle. This is a business transaction. They are paying you for your services. Once they have sent you proof that they have paid, send them your Snapchat name. Never give away anything you’re not comfortable with for free. People will take advantage of that.

Snapchat was really fun. I only ever had one subscriber, but he was really nice. Only once did he get a little testy with the ‘lack of content’ I was putting up. Although, after talking to my friend, I realized he was just greedy, because I was putting up 4-5 things per day, whereas she maybe put up one thing per day. Other than that interaction, I really enjoyed myself. I knew my snaps were only going to one person, so I could have as much fun as I wanted without feeling overwhelmed.

Fancentro Logo

Fancentro is like the manager for your premium Snapchat. There, buyers can purchase different subscription tiers, and they get to see a little bit of content before they purchase. Fancentro is like your home base for different subscription services. You can offer private Snapchat, private Instagram, you can add your Amazon Wishlist, and other fun goodies for people to spoil you with. I highly recommend using Fancentro to organize your subscription services.

Twitter Logo

A really good way to promote yourself as an ‘Adult Entertainer’ or ‘Sex Worker’ is on Twitter. There are so many people to network and collaborate with. You can post all the raunchy stuff you want and you will most likely never get shut down or banned. This is a great platform for marketing your other paid sites.

Never use Instagram to promote your sex work. You will get your account taken down faster than you can say ‘Free the Nipple’.

ManyVids Logo

ManyVids is where the money is at. Put up enough porn and inevitably someone will buy it. I had a grand total of 6 videos, and in 2 weeks I got 2 sales. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but when I was full expecting to not sell anything, two sales was winning the lottery. If you are comfortable with filming yourself doing the nasty or playing with yourself, I highly recommend doing it and putting it up on this site.

Not only was it REALLY fun, but I learned to love my body so much more after watching the videos I posted. I would find myself watching and re-watching all of my own videos. The bonus to learning to love yourself while doing this kind of work, is you really start to turn yourself on. I don’t think there was a single moment in the two weeks I was doing this that I wasn’t sopping wet.

Reddit Logo

Reddit is so important, but it’s very tricky. I got the most interaction while promoting myself on Reddit, but I also got laughed at the most for wanting people to pay for my goods. You have to be very careful that people don’t abuse your position as a sex worker. Reddit is where the true perverts live.

OnlyFans Logo

OnlyFans is only ok at the moment. OnlyFans is a newer site so there isn’t as much traffic, but I have a feeling that will soon change. Their aesthetic is much more pleasing than ManyVids and the interface is much more simple. It reminds me of when Tumblr was still cool. There’s a bio, a feed, and that’s it. It’s very simple.

The main difference between this site and ManyVids, is that it’s subscription based. You can offer monthly or lifetime subscriptions, but there isn’t more you get. All subscriptions get the same content, just longer or shorter access. If you were to choose a site, I would do either this one or ManyVids. Having both was pretty redundant. OnlyFans is also a great place to permanently put your premium snaps.

Patreon Logo

Patreon is interesting because they really support the ‘artistic’ side of adult entertainment. Honestly, if you are an erotic model, I would only use Patreon. They have the ‘lens’ which basically acts as a Snapchat and you can still post exclusive porn to paying customers. You can be so much more creative with your subscription tiers and usually the subscribers are a lot more professional.

End

Overall, the cons were pretty much expected and the pros were a happy surprise. I could have never expected this outcome. I seriously thought I would come away from all of this hating myself and thinking I was so disgusting. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I loved almost every minute and I would probably do again if I had a little bit more patience.

I have a whole new respect for these wonderful people. They are so supportive of each other. If you know a sex worker, give them all your love and support. Fuck what anyone says. They are doing what they love, period. Treat them like human beings and pay for your porn!

Good Clean Love Almost Naked Organic Lubricant (18+)

18+, Adult Content, Affiliate, Blog Posts, Goodies, Product Review, Sex

Good Clean Love Almost Naked Organic Personal Lubricant is only the third or fourth lubricant that I have tried in my life, but it is by far my favorite. It feels great, smells amazing, and tastes like candy. I will be going over my experience and some pros and (almost no) cons.

When I went to the store to look for my next lube, I had no idea what I was looking for. I thought I would just pick up some trusty AstroGlide, or something similar that I had tried in the past, but recently, my household has become more organic and natural, so when I saw the bright green tube, it definitely caught my eye. Low and behold, a clean sex product! I was thrilled. I read all the ingredients, looked up some reviews online, and threw it in my basket.

As soon as I got home, I opened it up. Now, I’m used to chemical lubes that are mostly clear, so when I squeezed some out to inspect, I was startled to see that it had a brownish hue. This is because of the organic, non-decolorized aloe. A lot of company take the color out, but Good Clean Love wants to make sure you are getting the most natural product you can.*

Color example

Besides the color, the first thing I noticed was the smell. It wasn’t too strong, but it was wonderfully sweet. I had never experienced that in a lube before (unless you count the various fake fruit flavored kinds that one usually receives as a gag gift). Me being curious I took a taste. It was amazing. Don’t judge me too hard. I knew, before eating it, that it was 100% edible, flavored with lemon and vanilla (and vegan/cruelty free…BONUS!).

After the first use, I was hooked. It felt great going on, while in use it was long lasting, and the sensitive tissue, in and around my vagina, wasn’t irritated! Whenever I would use chemical lubes, too much friction or penetration would almost cause my nether bits to start burning. That’s never a sexy feeling.

The only negative that I can give this product, is that if it’s exposed to air for too long, it has a tendency to dry out quickly. Not so fun when you’re giving your (penis having) partner and handy. Fortunately, there was a super easy fix: water. As soon as I got my hand wet, the lube was brought back to life with extra vigor. This make me believe that use in the shower will be extra fun. Also, this lube doesn’t wash off very easily with just water, so you could have loads of fun.

This was the first lube that I have ever wanted to use. Usually lube is just a necessity for toys or abnormally dry stints, but this one was going to be a staple in my everyday sex life. It made me feel like a woman down there, and an added benefit of this product is that it actually works with your body to naturally product lubrication. After one use, I noticed that I wasn’t dry as often as I was before.

I highly recommend this product! If you don’t want to buy the large amount to start, most sexual wellness shops have the sample/travel sizes available.

*I was contacted by Good Clean Love and given the right information. Before, I couldn’t find any place that explained the color, but I knew xanthan gum has a gold hue, so I originally stated that being the reason. They sent me a very nice message and explained exactly why their product is a light brown color, and I have updated this review accordingly.
